How does Modus Art Gallery make paper prints?

Prints are created in close collaboration with our artists and master printers. All archival prints are made with the most technologically advanced digital printers, using long lasting, stable inks on 100% cotton rag paper or other archival media selected by the artist to complement the image.

Some artists offer original works, drawings or paintings, created with materials of their choice which will be detailed with the work of art.

The details and/or materials of each artwork are noted on its edition page, and the packing slip includes detailed information about the art you've purchased.

Tell me about Metal Prints

Modus Art Metal Prints are created using a Dye Sublimation process.  A print is first created on to transfer paper.  That print is then "cooked" with a press using high temperature, high pressure and a specific time period.  The use of a digital press assures consistent results.  The metal blanks are manufactured by the Chromalux company.  We use Chromalux metal blanks exclusively because of their high quality.  Modus Art Metal Prints will not fade for more than 80 years when hung inside.  They may be hung outside.  They are completely impervious to weather and may be cleaned as ofter as you like with household cleaners.  A wood frame is attached to the rear of each metal print to provide stability and an attachment point. Does RCP gallery art look exactly like the images we see online?

We work to ensure color fidelity between the images you see online and our final artwork. While our screens, scanners and printers are calibrated, which we spend a lot of effort on, most customer screens are not. Because of this, colors and tones can vary greatly between computers, so the art you receive may look slightly different than it did on your computer. We can advise you on how to color calibrate your screen to get the closest match to ours.

Does the size of the paper equal the size of the actual image?

No. The image size (paper print) will always be stated and there is a 2" white border outside the stated image size.

What are the canvases like?

A very popular display format for fine art and treasured family photos. The lack of a frame and glazing provide a simplistic, modern display while providing a cost efficient solution.

RCP uses high quality canvas and Epson Ink to provide a print that will last at least 100 years. Epson printers are used to provide the same fine art resolution we use for RCP Fine Art Prints.  Canvas prints are coated to provide protection against moisture, abrasion and UV light.  All prints are ready to hang!

Who owns copyright or creative commons licenses on art available at

The artist who created the image controls all rights. Copyright law states that copyright is not transferred to the buyers of either prints or original artworks. A Buyer who wishes to own the copyright must negotiate that with the Artist and seek a signed assignment of the copyright.

How do the artists benefit from sales?

Each artist sets their price for their “royalty”. To that royalty, RCP adds the cost of creating the print and other direct costs. So the artist is in control of how much he makes on each piece.

Where else can I buy the art offered at

The art offered by RCP Art Gallery may be offered elsewhere. Some artists sell at art fairs as an example.  Usually the artists herein do not have their own e-commerce sales or affiliations with other galleries.

How do I care for my art?

If you are not immediately going to frame your art, we recommend storing it flat in a drawer in their original, archival sleeves, away from direct sun, heat and humidity. If your art was shipped in a tube, set books or a flat weight on top of it to flatten.

The most important thing in caring for your framed art is to avoid hanging it in direct sunlight.

To clean your framed art, follow these special instructions for plexiglas: Remove dust by blowing; DO NOT brush it away with your hand or a dry cloth, as this can damage the plexiglas. If further cleaning is needed, DO NOT use a common household cleaner like Windex or similar products that contain ammonia, as these cleaners will damage the plexiglas. Water and a soft, clean cloth should do the trick. You may also use a cleaner especially designed for acrylic surfaces, or make your own solution by mixing warm water with a small amount of mild dish detergent. Use a minimum amount of your chosen cleaning liquid on a soft cloth or sponge to wipe the Plexiglas clean. Dry gently with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Are RCP Art Gallery framing materials archival?

Yes! Our frames are conservation-quality, which means that your art is protected from deterioration and environmental factors such as air pollution, heat, light and humidity. From the mats to hidden elements like hinging tape and backing, all of the materials that come into contact with your art are acid-free and archival - they will not damage, deteriorate or discolor your art.

Why do you use Plexiglas in your frames?

Plexiglas offers higher-grade UV protection, has less glare, is less fragile (so it won't break and scratch your art) and is markedly lighter, which generally translates into safer and easier handling, storage and hanging. The standard Plexiglas in our frames blocks 70% of UV rays to minimize fading. Several types of glass are available as an option.  Shipping glass can be an issue.

Is art framed (option) by RCP Art Gallery ready to hang?

Yes. Each piece arrives with two D-rings and hanging wire already attached to allow for easy installation.
